The Cauliflower Rainbow
First up we have Purple of Sicily, a variety of cauliflower that brings awe stricken feelings to anyone who looks at it slims the scale to a whole new dimension. I had the joy of growing this type of cauliflower and although it is small in size my love for it only seems to grow stronger. Right beside the Graffiti Purple variety with Juicily saturated purple tones, absolutely astonishing.
Fun fact, red grapes and blueberries have anthocyanins which are also present in beauty which cauliflowers are. It creates a powerful taste and on top of that blends beautifully. Vegetables and fruits have a strange beauty to them which reminds the world of nature’s greatness
Cabbages and Companions
My attention was then directed to the Early Jersey Wakefield cabbage, which was in an ideal condition for harvesting. In fact, it was so soft that I could tear a few outer leaves towards senescence, but then I remembered the chickens. That is one of the things I enjoy about gardening, we do not throw anything away.
It is simply beautiful when I see Tuck hovering around me when I am harvesting, it almost feels like he never left my side. That moment only deepens the bond we share and it also enriches these moments for both of us.
The grapes are also setting on well and this is next to the trellises. And how could I forget the apples, peaches and pears that are starting to come into season? My gut feeling is telling me that the Braeburn apples this season are going be worth the buzz.

Standouts From the Greenhouse
One of today’s crops that have to stand out is the red express cabbages. It is solid and thick and really well shaped. I cut one of them up, which I should not have, for it was worth opening like a treasure chest.
These moments make me remember why I love tending to my garden. This is something you can never get from the shop’s warehouse, it is something you have to work on it yourself.
A Big Thank You
As I stood in the center of my garden filled with vegetables, I was filled with such an emotion. Every single leaf or fruit or vegetable is a symbol of the hard work, patience, and love that has been put in this piece of land.
Even the leftovers serve a purpose- End up with the chickens and complete the beautiful circle of life. It is such a neat reminder of how everything is connected.
